Sunday Night Knit Night | no. 3

Welcome to the Super Bowl Sunday Night Knit Night (say that five times fast!) I hope you’re enjoying some extra special food tonight for this momentous occasion in the United States. I’m impartial towards the game as I was hoping for the Jaguars or Vikings to be in the Super Bowl after the Panthers lost out.

What I’m Knitting

I’ve finished my beanie in time for our trip to the Arctic (aka Canada), and now I’m back to Kevin’s fingerless gloves. I’m also considering starting some heart-shaped plushies for Valentine’s Day. Wouldn’t they make the cutest little reusable hand warmers if you stuffed them with rice?

The beanie turned out to be a great project, although I don’t think I want to see a twisted rib stitch for quite a while. Knitting up 3.5 inches of twisted ribbing forced me to slow down and practice patience. It might be something I consider making for stash gifts.

Things of Interest

I love people putting smart business tactics together with creativity and passion like these super cute Vikings knitted hats. I read where she sold out almost instantly after the Vikings went to their playoff game, and she’s been knitting away to fill the orders. I can only imagine what her workload would have looked like had they made it to the Super Bowl.

Watching this tonight in protest of the halftime show. Just kidding, kind of. Bruno Mars for everything!

We turn eating into a sport at our house. Last year, we made these potstickers as our contribution to the Super Bowl Smorgasbord. Plus, you can make a double batch and freeze the ones you don’t cook for later.

Coming Up Next

We’re on vacation this week….well, can I call it a vacation if I’m spending all of my energy learning to ski? I’m looking forward to a week full of calorie burning and lounging in natural habitat (leggings and oversized sweatshirts) with snacks in the first week of my favorite month.

What’s your favorite part of February?
